To make this list of holiday horror more interesting, I’ve only included films that have less than 10k views on Letterboxd. As much as I love movies like Black Christmas (both the original and 2006 remake) and Better Watch Out, we don’t need yet another list with the same popular films! So I’ve come up with a mix of Christmas horror movies that I personally found entertaining. These movies come from a mix of budgets and ideas, so hopefully you can find at least one to watch and enjoy. I’ve linked to Tubi for each film. (Apologies in advance for when Tubi takes them down, but as of December 2025, they’re all there.)
Night of the Dark Full Moon (aka Silent Night, Bloody Night)

Has a thin connection to Christmas, but worth the watch for its atmosphere and creepy killer phone calls.
Feeders 2: Slay Bells

My Christmas comfort film – what’s better than a movie about aliens versus Santa?
Santa Jaws

Cheesy, family friendly, low budget “animal attacks” with a Santa hat wearing shark.
Whoever Slew Auntie Roo?

Hansel & Gretel Christmas horror – and the Christmas vibes are STRONG!
The Christmas Tapes

Low budget anthology with creative short films. Each short was different, with one featuring a psycho Santa. The wraparound story is darkly comedic.
Secret Santa

Dysfunctional family holiday horror with a crazy amount of gore.
The Night Sitter

Argento inspired lighting and story (the trio of witches are called the “Three Mothers”).
Mercy Christmas

For your cannibal Christmas horror needs!
Slay Belles

Krampus horror with fun female leads.
Gnome Sick: 7 Slays Til Mithras

Fun, with the gnomes stealing the show.
The Naughty List of Mr. Scrooge

If Hallmark made a slasher.
Weredeer

Low budget charm. They don’t even try hiding the fact that she’s wearing a deer mask.
